This card, Caves of Koilos, would benefit a deck that requires both white and black mana sources, such as an Orzhov deck in Magic: The Gathering. While it does come with the drawback of dealing 1 damage to you, the flexibility it provides in producing both white and black mana can be crucial for casting spells of both colors. However, there are better options like Godless Shrine or Isolated Chapel which provide dual lands without the life loss drawback, so Caves of Koilos may not see as much play in competitive decks.
