This card, Lignify, would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on controlling the opponent's creatures by reducing their power and toughness and stripping away their abilities. While Lignify can be effective in certain situations, there are arguably better options such as Song of the Dryads, which permanently removes a creature and turns it into a Forest land.
