This card would be beneficial in a multicolor deck that focuses on casting a variety of spells with different colors to maximize the +1/+1 counters on Ramos, Dragon Engine. While Ramos can generate a significant amount of mana with its ability, it may be outclassed by more efficient mana generators like Urza, Lord High Artificer in competitive play due to its higher cost and slower mana generation. However, in a casual or themed deck centered around multicolor spells, Ramos could be a fun and flavorful addition that offers versatility and potential for explosive plays.
Rules
11/10/20
Ramos’s triggered ability counts the number of colors a spell has (from zero to five), not how many colored mana symbols are there in its mana cost or how many colors of mana you spent.
11/10/20
Ramos’s triggered ability doesn’t trigger until you’ve finished casting a spell, including paying all of its costs. If Ramos has fewer than five +1/+1 counters on it, there’s no way to add counters with a spell and pay for that spell with the newly-added counters.
