Shakedown, Spell, designed by Kudos Productions first released in Mar, 2026 in the set Origins.
Shakedown fits best in aggressive or tempo-focused decks that want to pressure opponents early while forcing awkward decisions—especially decks that capitalize on card draw or punish low-health enemy units. Because it can be played as a Reaction at virtually any time, it’s excellent for disrupting combat math, sniping key combo pieces, or threatening lethal damage while also offering incidental card advantage if the opponent declines the 6 damage. It’s strongest in burn/aggro or midrange decks that don’t mind drawing extra cards and can leverage instant-speed interaction, but weaker in control decks that prefer guaranteed value over conditional effects. Whether it should see play depends on the meta: if 6 damage efficiently answers common threats at 2 cost, it’s strong; however, if there are more reliable removal spells that deal comparable damage without giving the opponent a choice (for example, a 2-cost spell that simply deals 5–6 unconditionally or exiles a unit), those would gener
