L'Inganno dell'Imp può essere un'aggiunta preziosa a un mazzo di controllo o interruzione che mira a ridirigere incantesimi potenti dagli avversari avendo anche la flessibilità di essere un istantaneo a basso costo. Tuttavia, potrebbe non essere efficiente come altre carte come Colpo Deviante o Trappola di Rimbalzo, che offrono effetti simili senza l'inconveniente della perdita di vita. Se L'Inganno dell'Imp dovrebbe essere giocato dipende dalla strategia specifica del mazzo e dal metagame che sta affrontando.
