**Abandon** fits best in reactive/control decks that want to protect key turns, disrupt high‑cost spells, and gain tempo by forcing the opponent to replay cards rather than lose them outright; it’s especially strong in slower Spell Riftbound builds that value flexibility, instant‑speed interaction, and deck filtering from **Predict** to smooth draws. Because it returns the spell to hand instead of trashing it, it’s better in tempo or combo‑control shells that plan to win before the opponent can recast their threat, rather than in hard control decks that prefer permanent answers.
