About Forgotten Library

Forgotten Library, Battlefield, designed by Chris Kintner first released in Mar, 2026 in the set Unleashed.

Forgotten Library would fit best in a spell-heavy control or combo deck that consistently spends 4 or more energy on spells—especially in slower builds that ramp energy and chain high-cost removal, board wipes, or win-condition spells—since it rewards you with steady deck filtering every time you cast a big spell; it’s particularly good in lists that care about setup consistency rather than raw tempo. However, because it only provides [Predict] (selection, not card advantage) and only triggers on 4+ energy spells, it’s generally weaker than battlefield cards that generate direct card draw, energy refund, or unconditional value, so in faster metas or midrange builds it’s likely outclassed by more immediately impactful engines. It should see play mainly in slower, high-cost spell control decks where repeated filtering meaningfully improves combo consistency, but it’s probably not an auto-include unless the deck is built specifically to trigger it often and safely.
