A deck focused on generating a large number of Elf creatures and utilizing their abilities would greatly benefit from including Ambush Commander. This card can turn all your Forests into additional Elf creatures, providing both a strong defensive line and additional attackers. While there may be more efficient options for boosting creature power, the versatility of being able to sacrifice Elves to pump up other creatures makes Ambush Commander a valuable inclusion in the right deck. It could see play in a green-based Elf tribal deck looking to overwhelm opponents with a swarm of creatures.

A noncreature permanent that turns into a creature can attack, and its abilities can be activated, only if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn. It doesn’t matter how long the permanent has been a creature.
