Stalking Stones can be beneficial in a deck that focuses on mana ramp and land synergy, as it provides additional mana and can turn into a creature for added versatility. However, there are potentially better options like Mutavault or Blinkmoth Nexus that offer more flexibility as creature lands. Stalking Stones could see play in decks looking for additional mana sources or in decks that can utilize its creature form effectively, but it may not be a top choice compared to other similar cards.

A noncreature permanent that turns into a creature can attack, and its abilities can be activated, only if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn. It doesn’t matter how long the permanent has been a creature.
