Combat Patrol: Adeptus Custodes is a Warhammer 40,000 tabletop miniatures game featuring the Adeptus Custodes, the Emperor of Mankind’s elite guardians, in small-scale battles.

Edit reference

Combat Patrol: Adeptus Custodes is a Warhammer 40,000 boxed force for the Combat Patrol format, rather than standalone board game. Its fixed contents are one Blade Champion, three Allarus Custodians, five Custodian Guard, and five Sisters of Silence Prosecutors models. These fourteen miniatures represent a compact Talons of the Emperor force, combining the Custodes with their allied null-maiden order military. The Blade Champion is a specialized Custodian duelist, equipped for close combat and intended to lead the army's decisive assault. Allarus Custodians wear Terminator armour and carry guardian spears or castellan axes, giving this elite infantry exceptional protection in battle.

Custodian Guard form the army's core, and their guardian spears or sentinel blades support flexible engagements across the battlefield itself. Prosecutors are Sisters of Silence armed with boltguns; their psychic null aura makes them a distinctive counterpart to the Custodes. In the setting, the Sisters' pariah nature disrupts psychic phenomena, while the Custodes are the Emperor's genetically engineered personal bodyguards. Together, they are known as the Talons of the Emperor, an alliance reflected directly by this box's mixed unit selection. The box depicts a specific Imperial partnership built around martial strength and psychic resistance rather than a generic infantry force.

Combat Patrol games use these predetermined forces, so players do not construct an army by comparing points before each battle. The format uses simplified rules and missions, allowing this exact collection to function as a ready to play force immediately. Its narrative identity comes from the Talons relationship, not from an invented campaign: the miniatures are established Warhammer 40,000 factions. The Adeptus Custodes have guarded the Emperor and the Imperial Palace since the Great Crusade, long before current setting's wars. After the Horus Heresy, they remained largely hidden on Terra, but the Indomitus era brought Custodes armies into open operations. That history explains why a patrol can combine palace guardians, Terminator veterans, and Sisters whose order serves the Emperor them.

On the table, the force rewards careful use of elite models, because every casualty removes a portion of its presence. The Blade Champion's melee focus, Allarus resilience, Guard versatility, and Prosecutor firepower give the patrol several distinct tactical roles. Its visual contrast is deliberate: auramite armour, red or black Custodes details, and the Sisters' unarmoured heads distinguish the units. As a product, it offers a snapshot of the tenth edition's Custodes lineup and a entry point into Combat Patrol.
