Welcome To... is a flip-and-write city-building board game designed by Benoit Turpin and illustrated by Anne Heidsieck. Blue Cocker Games published it in 2018, and Deep Water Games released an English edition. The game places players in the role of architects developing American suburbs during the 1950s, when planned neighborhoods, standardized houses, swimming pools, and spacious parks represented the postwar ideal.
Each player receives a dry-erase sheet showing three streets with empty house lots. The central mechanism uses three decks of cards. Every card combines a house number with a special action, and one card from each deck is revealed at the same time. Players choose one of the available number-action combinations and write the number into an empty lot on their sheet. Numbers on each street must increase from left to right, but players may leave gaps, making later choices more difficult. Because everyone uses the same three revealed combinations, the game creates competition through timing and personal planning rather than hidden card hands.
The actions give the simple numbering rule its strategic depth. Players can add pools to eligible houses, increase park development, hire temporary agencies to modify a house number, or use BIS signs to duplicate a number and divide a street into separate sections. Fences divide streets into housing estates. Completing an estate earns a score based on its size, although claiming a particular size first can provide a larger reward. Public construction projects also create shared objectives: players race to fulfill requirements such as building pools, creating estates of specified sizes, or using particular developments. A player who completes a project takes its available card, while unclaimed projects become harder to secure as the game progresses.
The game ends when a player completes three public objectives, fills all available houses, or is unable to place a legal number. Scores combine completed estates, public projects, pools, parks, and penalties for unfinished plans. Its structure supports simultaneous play, so turns rarely require players to wait for one another. The write-and-wipe sheets also allow repeated sessions without consuming paper.
Welcome To... is often described as a “flip-and-write” game because it replaces dice rolling with card reveals and replaces a shared board with individual sheets. Its 1950s suburban setting is not merely decorative: the architectural theme directly informs the street layout, estate scoring, construction projects, and development actions. The result is a compact game about managing increasing house numbers while balancing immediate benefits against the risk of making future placements impossible.
