A deck that focuses on protecting key creatures or preventing combat damage would benefit from using Gossamer Chains, particularly in a white-based control or tempo deck. While Gossamer Chains offers a useful ability to prevent combat damage from unblocked creatures, it may not be as efficient as other options like Brave the Elements or Gods Willing, which provide similar protection at instant speed and can target any creature. Gossamer Chains could see play in specific metagames or as a budget option, but there are generally better cards available for this effect in Magic: the Gathering.
