Wizards of the Coast announced today a new format for Magic Arena

Alchemy will be an Online-Only format, like Historic

Cards Realm

Alchemy will include "Standard cards, new-to-digital cards, and rebalanced cards"

The format will launch with 63 new digital-only cards to Magic Arena

Cards Realm

The format will also feature multiple rebalanced Standard cards

When the format launches, all players will receive: 3 Alchemy boosters 6 rare Alchemy individual card rewards (ICRs) 1 Alchemy mythic rare ICR

Cards Realm

Alchemy will launch on December 9, 2021

Alchemy boosters will cost the same as Standard boosters, and rebalanced cards won't need to be collected again (but new ones will need to be collected)

Cards Realm

Alchemy will feature a Duplicate Protection

"When opening an Alchemy booster, it will prioritize the new-to-digital Magic cards created for the current Alchemy set."

Cards Realm

"If you've collected playsets of all the new Alchemy cards from the current set, you will instead receive cards of the same rarity from the adjacent Standard set (i.e., Innistrad: Crimson Vow)"

"If you are "set complete" for both Alchemy and the adjacent Standard set, normal duplicate protection rules apply"

Cards Realm

Many players are criticizing the new format. According to them, Wizards should be focusing on MTGA numerous bugs and lack of spectator mode instead
