In MTG, the Commander Format is organized by the Commander Rules Committee

This group is responsible for banning cards and changing the rules of the format when necessary

Cards Realm

They have just released a new announcement

In this update, they have decided to not change any rules or the banlist for now

Cards Realm

"There are several cards which are popular topics of concern on the internet (such as Tergrid, God of Fright, Dockside Extortionist, and Thassa’s Oracle), but none of them have reached problematic levels of play in our target demographic (games governed by a strong social contract)"

Cards Realm

"The RC feels that all of them can be handled via discussion among the players before a game, and that it’s not too difficult to draw a line between reasonable and unreasonable uses"

Cards Realm

The Rules Committee is changing, however, how they interact with the CAG

The CAG (Commander Advisory Group) is a group of invited CMD community leaders that assist them in their discussions

Cards Realm

According to them, "we’ll be meeting with them [CAG] formally in smaller groups as we approach the quarterly announcements"

They say this will give them more time to collect information from trusted sources

Cards Realm

We hope this minor change helps the Commander Committee to make wise decisions for the format!
