Un mazo que se enfoca en lanzar muchas instantáneas y conjuros se beneficiaría al incluir Backdraft Hellkite, ya que proporciona un valor adicional al permitir que esos hechizos se lancen nuevamente desde el cementerio. Si bien puede haber cartas de dragón más poderosas disponibles en Magic: The Gathering, Backdraft Hellkite puede ser una adición fuerte a mazos que dependen en gran medida de instantáneas y conjuros, especialmente en formatos donde la recuperación del cementerio es importante. Su capacidad para dar flashback a múltiples hechizos puede llevar a turnos explosivos y puede tomar por sorpresa a los oponentes, lo que lo convierte en una opción viable para ciertas estrategias.
