Esta carta, Mar Subterráneo, es un básico en los formatos Legacy y Vintage en Magic: The Gathering, ya que proporciona acceso tanto al maná azul como al negro, permitiendo estrategias poderosas como control, combo y mazos de rango medio. Su tipo de tierra dual la hace altamente versátil y eficiente en la corrección de maná, permitiendo a los jugadores lanzar una amplia gama de hechizos sin restricciones de color.
