Splinter Twin es una carta poderosa que se usa comúnmente en mazos de combo en Magic: The Gathering. Los mazos que se centran en crear copias infinitas de fichas de una criatura para abrumar al oponente se benefician más de Splinter Twin, como el mazo de combo Splinter Twin. Aunque puede haber otras cartas que puedan lograr efectos similares, la capacidad de Splinter Twin para crear una copia de ficha apresurada a velocidad instantánea lo convierte en una opción sólida para los mazos que buscan ganar a través de un final de combo. Splinter Twin grants an activated ability to the enchanted creature. That creature’s controller (who is not necessarily the Aura’s controller) can activate it. The creature’s controller is the player who gets the token.
