Bake into a Pie kan een waardevolle toevoeging zijn aan een zwart controledek in Magic: the Gathering, waardoor een bedreigend wezen kan worden verwijderd en tegelijkertijd een voedselfiche kan worden gegenereerd voor levenswinst. Hoewel het veelzijdigheid biedt, kunnen andere kaarten zoals Murder of Fatal Push efficiënter zijn in termen van kosten en onmiddellijke impact, afhankelijk van de strategie van het kaartspel. Bake into a Pie kon echter nog steeds spel zien in decks die waarde hechten aan zowel verwijdering als levenswinst, vooral in langzamere, grindy matchups.

Some spells that instruct you to create a Food token have targets. You can’t cast these spells without choosing all required targets, and if all of those targets become illegal targets, the spell won’t resolve and you won’t create any Food. If some but not all of those targets become illegal, you’ll do as much as possible, including creating Food.

You can’t sacrifice a Food token to pay multiple costs. For example, you can’t sacrifice a Food token to activate its own ability and also to activate the ability of Tempting Witch.
