Illusionist's Gambit would benefit decks that focus on controlling the board and disrupting their opponent's combat strategies, such as control or tempo decks. While it can create interesting combat situations and potentially swing the game in your favor, there are better options available like Settle the Wreckage or Cyclonic Rift that offer more flexibility and control. Illusionist's Gambit could be a fun and unexpected inclusion in certain decks for its unique effect, but it may not see consistent play in competitive settings due to its situational nature and higher mana cost.
