A deck focused on aggressive strategies and creature combat would benefit from using Hunter's Edge, as it provides a way to boost the power of a creature and deal damage to an opponent's creature simultaneously. However, there are potentially better cards like Giant Growth or Prey Upon that offer similar effects more efficiently. While Hunter's Edge could have situational uses, it may not be a top choice for competitive play due to its mana cost and the availability of more versatile options in the current card pool.

If the creature you don’t control is an illegal target as Hunter’s Edge tries to resolve but the creature you control is a legal target, you just put a +1/+1 counter on the creature you control.
