Automated Warfare System fits best in black artifact-aristocrats or artifact-recursion Commander decks that can reliably turn expendable artifact tokens, Treasures, Clues, Servo/Thopter tokens, or creatures with death triggers into cards; flying also makes attacking safer, though it still needs to survive combat and attack before generating value. It is likely too slow for competitive formats, especially without knowing its power and toughness, because paying three mana for a conditional once-per-attack card draw is modest, but it can be a reasonable casual EDH inclusion where sacrifice fodder is abundant. Better options usually exist: `Smothering Abomination` draws whenever any creature is sacrificed, `Yawgmoth, Thran Physician` provides repeatable sacrifice outlets and card draw immediately, and `Skullclamp` is dramatically more efficient when paired with 1-toughness tokens; artifact-focused decks may also prefer `Krark-Clan Ironworks` or `Oni-Cult Anvil` depending on the strategy.
