Wizards of the Coast has pulled yet another gift out of their hat to celebrate Magic: The Gathering turning 30 this year. At the next MagicCon, in Las Vegas, players and fans will have the opportunity to participate in a tournament with a US$100,000 prize pool, with the first place taking US$20,000 home, besides a Pro Tour invite as well.

As usual, this MagicCon will feature several different events besides this tournament. Guests will be able to check out cosplay contests, the Command Zone (which is now included in the first-tier Badges available for purchase, which give entry to the event), the Creator Arena, Guest Artists and several others, including the Sunday Secret Lair Showdown Championship. Many other events are still yet to be announced, so keep an eye out for any activities that might be on your radar.

But, besides the Magic World Championship, Wizards also announced another tournament to happen in MagicCon Las Vegas: The Limited Open Tournament.

This is a new event for WotC, therefore many details about it haven't been revealed yet, but the announcement mentioned important information players should pay attention to when participating in this event.

Firstly, to participate, players need to have bought Badges for Friday and Saturday. They also need to pay an entry-fee of $160. There are only 2,000 slots available, so anyone interested should pay attention to the openings on the official Wizards of the Coast website on June 15th!

The competition will have eight rounds of Wilds of Eldraine Sealed play on Day 1, two three-rounds Wilds of Eldraine drafts on Day 2, and a wild single-elimination Wilds of Eldraine draft in the Top 8 on Sunday.

Any player who qualifies on Saturday but doesn't have Badges for Sunday will be given a Sunday Badge.

There are prizes up to the 128 best ranking players, and to earn a Pro Tour invite, players will need to get 36 match points or higher.
