New Borderless Anime Promos!

Just as recently several players were able to get their version of Lotus Petal through physical stores in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Magic: the Gathering, a new promotion was recently released where you can redeem the two reprints of Pyroblast It is Ice Out in its Anime and borderless versions.

Where to find?

The two promos can be purchased at local stores, featuring the cards Pyroblast and Ice Out. The two cards are being distributed at the same time, and in the same way to obtain, just spending US$ 50 (or equivalent in your region) on sealed products.

These cards have a Japanese and English version. Interestingly, the Japanese version has been available since September 8th, corresponding to the launch day of Wilds of Eldrainelink outside website, but only now, since October 9th, the English versions became available.

Despite several reprints, Pyroblast maintains a value above US$4 due to its competitive use in Legacy and Pauper. Its promotional version is already being found on some websites for US$22.

Ice Out, on the other hand, is not very common in the competitive environment, which means that its value is low, reaching a maximum of 10 cents per dollar. Its anime version, however, is priced at US$10. These values are related to their English versions, which differ compared to their Japanese versions.

Why not Hydroblast?

Hydroblast is the opposite version of Pyroblast, so why wasn't it used together with it in this promo instead of Ice Out?

One of the factors for this choice was made is because Ice Out helps with visualizing the Wilds of Eldraine set. Ice Out also makes use of the Negotiate mechanic, a new mechanic that appears in Wilds of Eldraine. Since the promos were released together in their Japanese version, using them together seems more suitable to enhance the new collection.
