Introduction
Gwent is the main card game in The Witcher universe, one of the most popular franchises in pop culture. The first time it was in the spotlight was in The Witcher 3, as this iteration of the franchise let you collect cards and play Gwent tournaments, all inside the game itself.
Fans liked Gwent so much that CD Projekt Red decided to release it independently in 2017, for free.
Today, we'll show you what are the game's resources, how to get them, and what is the most efficient way to spend them. We'll also give you some tips to help you manage your card collection.

How to Get Resources
Here you'll find the best ways to get the resources in Gwent, like Reward Points, Ore, and many others. Don't worry if you don't know what they are for yet, as we'll explain it soon.
Daily Quests
You've probably seen this reward system before in other games, but if you haven't, here's a quick rundown: every day, you'll get a new mission. You can have up to three at once, and, when you complete them, you'll get some reward points.

Contracts
Contracts are similar to other games' "achievements". You'll be given a challenge and get a reward when you do it. To access your Contracts, just browse your profile and click on the "contract" tab.

Notice that a few of these challenges focus on specific modes, like Journeys, Singleplayer, and Ranked.
You can track up to five incomplete contracts, which is great, as you won't need to click on your profile and manually search for them any time you want to check something. When you're tracking them, they'll go to the Quest tab, in the left bottom corner, just below your Daily quests.

Most of these quests give you reward points, but others give you cosmetic rewards, like profile icons or titles. Finally, Contracts that progress your level give you a few "Perks", like extra rewards after completing quests or getting a GG.

Summer Cycle
The Summer Cycle is a reward track that was originally added to the game in 2023 to give more rewards to fans. It renews every season, which lasts around 3 months.
It works like this: you get three easy quests, three medium quests, and three hard quests per day. When you complete them, you'll get "cycles", which are the "experience points" you need to progress through the track. Easy quests give you 1 cycle, medium quests give you 2, and hard quests give you 3.
You can get various rewards from this track, including cosmetics, reward points, scraps, ore, meteorite powder, cards, and chests.
Note: Medium quests only unlock after you reach level 5 in the track, and the hard quests unlock after you reach level 15.

Another important fact is that, as you progress, each level will demand more cycles. To get to level 15, you only need one cycle to level up. After that, you need two cycles to level up. The next rewards are first on level 17, then 19, and so on and so forth.

One of the best rewards in this track is an exclusive seasonal cardback, which is free for anyone who hits level 250.

But that's not all. I believe this track doesn't really end, as I couldn't find an exact number of total rewards you can get from it. When I scrolled down through the track in the game itself, I was unable to find a "final level" either.

Journey
This is Gwent's "Battle Pass". It's another reward track in the game, with 100 levels that give you 2 prizes each - one is free and the other is exclusive to anyone who buys the premium version.

The free track only gives you reward points and icons. The paid rewards include various cosmetics (including leader skins), besides cards, kegs (which are card boosters), and a few extra reward points.

To progress on your Journey track, you'll need "Crown Pieces". You can get them in two ways: each round you win in a regular game gives you a "Crown Piece", but you can also complete Journey quests to get them.
We get three quests every week, and they give us, in total, 20 Crown Pieces.

How to Invest Your Resources
It's time to use all the rewards you got from completing quests to get new items and cards.
Reward Points
You'll use them to unlock items in the Reward Book.
![Image content of the Website](https://cdn.cardsrealm.com/images/uploads/7104-839182127130127788780-1724092826.jpeg)
To the right, you can see there are other sections in this book, and each one gives you several rewards. The best reward in this are the chests, as some even give you Premium Kegs.

There are also faction trees, which, clearly, give you rewards based on each faction.
I highly recommend you start with the page indicated by the Crown with a blue background. This page is dedicated to inexperienced players who are still learning about each faction.

Ore
You'll use Ore to get kegs, which, when opened, give us five cards. There are multiple types of kegs, and each one gives you different types of cards.
![Image content of the Website](https://cdn.cardsrealm.com/images/uploads/7104-312643473335314523-1724092859.jpeg)
Note: Premium Kegs cost real dollars, both options, so you can't get them with ore alone.
Scraps
Scraps are similar to Arcane Dust in Hearthstone. The goal is to let you get specific cards, and you can also destroy any cards you already have to get a certain number of scraps.

I suggest you use them wisely and carefully, as each card gives you 4 less resources when you destroy it. As you can see above, a unit that costs 800 scraps only gives you 200 scraps when you discard it.
Meteorite Powder
This is basically the premium resource in the game, and it is a bit less common to find than other resources. You can also get it with dollars at the online game store.
Meteorite Powder also gets you cosmetics, as, with it, you can get borders, other cosmetics, or turn your cards into premium versions to give them a new animation effect.

How to Get a Good Card Collection Early On
My best advice if you want a great card collection is to focus on neutral cards, that is, the cards every faction can use. If you're unsure if a card is neutral, just check the background color where its name is. It should be brown, like the image below.
![Image content of the Website](https://cdn.cardsrealm.com/images/uploads/7104-67575069452620179-1724092898.jpeg)
Any other color indicates another faction, such as:
You should focus on collecting neutral cards because, if you're a beginner, you probably don't know which are your favorite strategies yet, or which faction you most identify with. So, if you start by collecting cards of a faction that you end up not liking in the end, you'll compromise your entire collection.
Final Words
I hope this article helped you better understand each resource in Gwent, and how to progress in the game.
