Een recursiestapel op een Golgari-kerkhof zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Return Upon the Tide, omdat het de reanimatie van een wezen mogelijk maakt en mogelijk extra Elf-tokens genereert als het doelwit een Elf is. Een kaart als Grisly Salvage kan in sommige situaties echter beter zijn vanwege de kaartselectie en mogelijkheden om kerkhoven te vullen, terwijl kaarten als Liliana en Waker of the Dead een veelzijdigere kerkhofinteractie bieden. Return Upon the Tide zou gespeeld kunnen worden in een meer tribal-gericht Elf-deck, maar is in bredere zin misschien niet zo impactvol in vergelijking met andere opties die beschikbaar zijn in het formaat.

Because exiling a card with foretell from your hand is a special action, you can do so any time you have priority during your turn, including in response to spells and abilities. Once you announce you’re taking the action, no other player can respond by trying to remove the card from your hand.

If you’re casting a foretold card from exile for its foretell cost, you can’t choose to cast it for any other alternative costs. You can, however, pay additional costs, such as kicker costs. If the card has any mandatory additional costs, those must be paid to cast the spell.
