This card, Monologue Tax, would be beneficial in a control or tempo deck that aims to slow down the opponent's spellcasting while ramping up your own resources. While it can generate additional mana with Treasure tokens, there are potentially better options like Rule of Law or Eidolon of Rhetoric that can more effectively limit your opponent's spellcasting. However, Monologue Tax could still see play in specific metagames where its ability to generate resources outweighs its cost.
